| Named after the mythical God Of Birds and the Indonesian National Airline, Garuda Commute formed in early 2007. Part blunt and grunting troll, part sweet scented siren, Garuda Commute is a two headed beast that beguiles you with subtle whispers and mellifluous melodies then cracks you upside the head with a dryslap of epic proportions. |
James Wilkins: Vocals and Guitar Chris O’Donnell: Keyboards and Synth Rob Winter: Bass Al Sweetman: Drums |
CD Review Kerrang Unafraid to mix behemouth riffs, soaring vocals, Bunyanesque rhythms with bold, quixotic key driven instrumentals, Garuda Commute will take you for dinner and make you pay for it. Garuda Commute will tell you it loves you and then post naked pictures of you on the internet. Garuda Commute will make you sleep on the sofa - confused, lacking dignity, in need of a shower and begging for some more of that sweet, sweet rough stuff. |
| Live Review SANDMAN MAGAZINE "The Garuda Commute will remind many of Muse but rawer - people soon start paying attention. Vocals are long anguished notes that ring out through the entire tiny venue - the crowd happy that they have someone new to look up" Review / Feature LONDONIST.co.uk "It's apparent that these guys are going to be able to stand their own on a stage much larger than that of 93 Feet East. Certainly with tracks like Curse This Day and it's epic Foo Fighters style chorus you can easily imagine them at next year's Reading. Live they take a much darker and heavier sound - tracks like I Took That From You lie more closely with the dark musings of Soundgarden and QOTSA ." |

BearKnuckles began fusing their music in a musty portakabin on Bristol’s Gloucester Road before decamping. Having spent a year gigging furiously, recording their first EP and refining their set, the band upped sticks and moved to London in October 2007. Having set out together in November 2006, BearKnuckles have been spreading their destructo pop mantra across the UK and beyond. Energetic performances and songs steeped in teenage kicks, ranging from punk to vintage powerpop thrills, have created a palpable buzz on the club scene. |
|
Fronted by frenetic guitarist and vocalist Ross Stone, propelled by Matt's Pecks on drums and Tim King Stagg on bass, BearKnuckles are rampant in their resolve. The band meld British influences such as The Jam, The Cure and Gang of Four, with the American sounds of Queens of the Stone Age, We are Scientists and Death From Above 1979. Combined, they unleash an original blend of "destructo powerpop dancing on the dark side". "Relocated from Bristol Bearknuckles are a power trio of serious power and artrock tunes. Influences like Bloc Party, Gang of Four, We Are Scientists Death from above 1979, Biffy Clyro put you in the picture. Their's is an accessible if punk-ed up sound of fuzzed guitar and locked in bass and flared hi-hat grooves. Their nods to UK post punk's Cure and Jam make the most obvious contemporary comparison Neil's Children. Three self released EPs now under their belt including the most recent "White Noise' release at the back end of last year and a gig and supports list as long as two arms means that a rocking 'live' show is where it really happens for Bearknuckles." BearKnuckles Review, Toby Leeming, Production, Warner music. "....Energy from start to finish, youthful, raw, potent.....a well spent 40 minutes." |

Lets go back to colorful cocktails, sunsets, flashing disco floors, a pink neon light and a giant disco ball, add a dash of nostalgia and you have a time machine called Miamii. Electric guitars riffing over synth built melodies, a scoop of crushed ice just to be cool and you have a perfect chorus from a feel good song that echos through time. One thing that has resonated in these boys minds throughout the years is the memory of the music that filtered every fiber of their being as kids, anthems that have set the platform for music nowadays. |
|
That is what Miamii is about, they capture that feeling in their music, using elements of rock with a commercial edge to create a style that puts
them in a league of their own. Originally from South Africa, the band headed over to the UK to pursue their music careers. All members coming out
from different bands, mainly pop/punk and metal origin, these four 80's and synth
obsessed kids decided it was time to create Miamii.
Releasing their first 2 track single cd 'The Bonnet Is Hot, Where Have You Been?' in 2006 to their debut E.P 'Wish You Could Hear!' last year, they have received plenty attention in the London and Manchester Areas. So sit back, relax and enjoy their music. |

Fuzz Valentine were formed when Paul met Andrew in West London. Together with Olly, the band have since developed their fuzz infused indie rock sound. Fuzz Valentine manage to mix the charm of Placebo and the solid song writing of Green Day, with rakish melodies and passionate riffs to create a sound that is very much their own. Paul Blades: Guitar / Vocals |
‘Far’ from their first studio EP won them XFM Unsigned and has since been played on the London station by both Claire Sturgess and Alex Zane. It was also featured on the successful cult compilation “Real Pirate Material” released by Brainlove Records. Since their most recent EP 'Mexico', the band hooked up with Criminal Records and there are talks of an upcoming split single and other releases for the band.
"Fuzz Valentine deliver a tight as you like skinny tied portion of driving New Wave that crashes and crushes all in its wake with the added bonus that it's not to dissimilar to Dinosaur Jnr but without the sonic pyrotechnics." Losing Today Magazine |

'Neon City' out
Mon 11th Aug (12th iTunes) |
“One of my singles of the year” Vanity Project “I now know how Howard Carter must have felt when he discovered Tutankhamen’s tomb” Music Zine “Driving indie-dance rock with an Oasis sized-snarl and some finely tuned anthemic bluster.... The Exits have created an indie-disco masterpiece” www.Subba-Cultcha.com “It wouldn’t surprise me if ‘Neon City’ becomes a bit of an anthem” Music Riot |

Bands have been combining rock and electronic elements for some time. The Killers and Klaxons all made a bee line for the mainstream and ended up as not only front runners of their respective scenes but chart dominating superstars. The Exits may have a similar knack for moments of uplifting bliss and giddy choruses but they also possess a distinctly English trait. The Exits’ sound continually evolves from electronica smattered guitar based tracks, to a heavy synthesised, dance orientated assault. ![]()

Maha [Vocals / Lead Guitar]
Elvira [Bass]
Jade [Drums] Set to soon release their debut Double A-side single: ‘Doesn’t Matter Anyway’ / ‘Closure’, they have been dubbed as possibly ‘the best all female band the UK has ever produced’, their ‘basement rock’ sound mixes dark indie, sultry vocals and contagious guitar riffs, with dubby bass and solid drums. |
The fact The Kut are all females is no gimmick. These girls are really talented musicians and are now popping up all over the place in the lead up to release. On the single, 'Doesn't Matter Anyway' is a choppy indie-rock floor filler, whilst in contrast, 'Closure' is deep, technical and emotional. The forthcoming 'Doesn't Matter Anyway' music video, was directed by accomplished ex RAW TV producer, Tom Norton of Juxtapose Films.
